Woven near Kakinada using the extremely fine, non-mechanical Jamdani technique, Uppada sarees are prized for their light, almost translucent body. GI-tagged as "Uppada Jamdani Sarees" and regularly cited among the most expensive silk saree varieties in the world, woven predominantly by the Padmashali community.
