Pochampally Ikat

Hand-loomed in the villages of Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district, Pochampally Ikat was the first Geographical Indication (GI) tag registered from Telangana, in 2005. Warp and weft threads are individually tie-dyed in a precise, pre-planned pattern before weaving, so the signature geometric diamond and chowka (checked) patterns emerge from the weave itself rather than being printed on afterward.
